A Winter Event Like No Other in Hamilton

Hamilton’s winter festival offers more than just an ice rink. It’s a place where the community comes together to celebrate the season with joy and excitement. The event runs daily from 10am to 10pm, giving you plenty of time to fit in a skate session, whether it’s a quick visit during lunch or a cozy evening outing.

The Claudelands Events Centre provides a spacious, safe, and welcoming environment. The rink itself is made of real ice, ensuring an authentic skating experience that’s hard to find in many places. The atmosphere is lively, filled with festive decorations, twinkling lights, and music that sets the perfect mood for winter fun.

What Makes the Ice Rink Special?

The ice rink at Claudelands is designed to cater to all skill levels. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Smooth, real ice surface that offers a true skating feel.

  • Spacious layout allowing plenty of room to skate freely without feeling crowded.

  • Festive lighting and decorations that create a magical winter ambiance.

  • Comfortable seating areas for friends and family to relax and watch the fun.

  • Warm-up zones nearby to help you get ready before hitting the ice.

Whether you want to practice your spins or just enjoy a gentle glide, the rink’s setup supports all kinds of skating styles.

Support for Beginners and Families

If you’re new to skating or bringing young children, the festival has you covered. Skate Helpers are available on-site to assist beginners in finding their balance and gaining confidence on the ice. These helpers provide friendly guidance and support, making the experience enjoyable and stress-free.

For families with children aged 12 and under, safety is a priority. Helmets are mandatory for all young skaters to protect against falls and bumps. If you don’t have a helmet, don’t worry — the event offers helmet rentals to ensure everyone stays safe while having fun.
